Did more silent meditation today.  Wasn’t sleepy. Didn’t go in with a set time limit, but when I stopped twenty-five minutes had passed.  Not too bad, and five min. more than yesterday. Tomorrow I think I will use a clock and time 30 minutes.

 

The cycle in silent meditation isn’t so much chatter – silence – distraction – chatter – silence, as I wrote yesterday, as it is chatter – calm – silence – deeper silence – still deeper silence – deeper silence yet – etc, with the potential for distraction appearing anywhere in the cycle and tossing one back to the “chatter” phase.
