Today is my day of preparations for the 30 Day Talisman Challenge. I will be working with Manannán mac Lir and making a necklace to use in divination work. I have some embroidery silks that I will use to braid the necklace and a shell with a hole worn in it from Ireland that will be the centrepiece of the necklace. Before I begin tomorrow, I have the silks being cleansed in a dry salt bath. Also before I begin work, I will bless the shell with some sea water tomorrow as I do not want to ‘cleanse’ the shell of the powers it carried over from Ireland.
My plan is to weave the strands of the necklace as I chant to Manannán using a Full Moon ritual developed by Jenne Micale and shared on the Henge of Keltria. Where there is space left for the divination/working, I will voice my desires for this talisman to Manannán as the spirit moves until the necklace is completed. I intend to use this format for the thirty days, and once the necklace is finished, will use the ritual to empower it with the magic of the Crane bag and the Mysteries contained therein.
