Dreams and images of owls, lighting bolts, Medusa and warriors led me  to Athena's doorstep.  I have rarely spoken her name in ritual verse but now I find things that remind me of her everywhere. I traditionally work within the Egyptian pantheon and after seeking out some guidance I was pointed toward owls. I started researching deities that were related to wisdom and invention and spent some time with Thoth but it did not feel quite right. My second meditation the next night led me to look for snakes and a sense of  strong will, even being shown the image of Medusa. I then started researching the Greek gods of wisdom and came upon Asclepius, the Greek God of healing. Made sense, his staff had intertwined snakes and being in the medical field myself it seemed appropriate however I felt like I was still  missing something.  I set the idea aside and thought maybe the timing wasn't right.

Having almost given up, I started to pick up on things around me. An overheard conversation about lighting, a friends newly acquired Zeus sculpture, and a vacation advertisement about Greece that had an image of Zeus in it. The light bulb finally turned on and I remembered Zeus had a daughter named Athena whom would sometimes appear as an owl, it was time to work with Athena.
